My story
I'm Maria, the one woman band behind 'Mary Spaghetti Stories'! An artistic soul and trained social worker, there's nothing I love more than creating social change through creativity. Since 2021, I have turned my graphic design hobby into a social mission to spread love and joy to the world.
As an avid card-sender, I started my business out of frustration of not seeing anything in the greeting card aisles for LGBTIQ+ folks. Tired of wishing there was a card for friends who had come out, transitioned or finally been able to marry their love...I decided to create my own! My goal is to give you the cards you've always been looking for which tell our stories of love, identity, families, gaybies and general fabulousness! Each card is lovingly designed for partners, friends, families and allies to let that special person know that they are loved just the way they are (sometimes with alot of cheek and extra naughtiness ;) )
Unfortunately, LGBTIQ+ folks are still one of the most vulnerable groups suffering from discrimination and high rates of mental illness - not to mention that it is still illegal to be LGBTIQ+ in many countries today. More than ever, we need to hold each other up, create a place for everyone to belong and choose love. It is my hope that through 'Mary Spaghetti Stories', I can do my bit from my little corner of the world to bring joy and strength to the gorgeous LGBTIQ+ folks in your life <3
